I sought help from another doctor who immediately put me back on Xanax and slowly weened me off the medicine. It is not good to go \"cold turkey\" because there can be negative effects such as seizures after a prolonged period of taking it. I began my rehab in March of this year and am still feeling the lingering effects of being off Xanax. I have problems sleeping, am very, very anxious, etc. I never abused the drug and believe that it is the one thing that really helped me balance myself mentally and physically. I struggle with anxiety still with no help and wish I could still be on Xanax...I believe it serves a purpose.

I had a friend to mail my xanax thru the UPS and once he was late, the first day I cried all day and everything was unusually noisy.The second day I layed down all day breathing hard and started jerking all over.The third day I was scared for my life because by that time I COULDN'T TALK. My daughter called the ambulance. I would have to go to the hospital to have help getting off xanax after taking them this long.
