I have been on 0.25 Xanax for a long period of time. I began with anxiety attacks, heavy stress caring for elderly parents, one with Alzheimers 16 years. I use Xanax carefully, on a when needed basis. I am told repeatedly, taken as I do, is beneficial, and will not become abusive. So far, so good. Now I have atril fibrillation, no connection to Xanax, on Rythmol for control of heart rythum, and coumadin to prevent clotting. I am overly anxious taking coumadin, and need Xanax sometimes on a daily basis now for anxiety. I have been advised to take it 2 or 3 times daily, which I refuse to do, and find 1 possibly 2 occasionally helps. This medical advice is given by 3 very reputable physcians and cardiologists. Sometimes the risks of medications are necessary and more beneficial than risk of the illness. needed

I was taking 0.25 xanax 3-4 times a day and a tired to fill my perscription 4 days early and the pharmicist wouldn\'t do it. So i agreed that if i did get withdrawl symptoms i would go see my doctor, but if not i would wait the 4 days to fill my perscription. After 2 days i was expectiong the worse but nothing happened, except a little troble falling asleep. You should be fine comming off if your only taking one a day but if your really concerned break the pill in half and take that for a week than break it into a quarter for another week.

I been in xanax since i was 26 years of age. I didnt have much choice my GP put me on valium for one week because. I was in are marriage with mental abuse.The valium didnt help me that much.So she send me to see are psychiatrist he prescribed 1mg xanax and he said that I suffer panic attack and I was in are deppresion. But that happines didnt last me for to long because in november 2005. I lost my mother she pass away . On the 7 of december, i was in are car crash, with my young daugther thanks god, my daugther didnt got hurt, but i got injury in my back,neck. I have to stop working and i had are morgage to pay .I came back with my anxiety, panick attack and i have to increase xanax.Now im 40 years old, i got married again even that my husband is are very understandable person and been very kind and he tried to understand what im going throw.Some times i can have 1 ,2.month with no anxiety, no panicks but some times they came and i cant stop them and i feel sad bad tempa unhappy about life. I been haven withdraw from xanax, i start to shake i cant sleep some times, i have nigthmares and i feel dizzy.My psychiatrist wants to put me into are mental hospital to take the adiccion of xanax.But im not going any hospital.I m going to do it my self, i did once i can do it again and i im positive that i will came out off xanax one day . thank you to take you time to read my story.
