How Does a Y Line Test Work?

A Y chromosomal DNA test can determine familial relationships by examining the small, distinctive chemical markers in the Y chromosome, or male, chromosome.  These markers, known as haplotypes, differentiate one male lineage from the other in order to determine shared lineage between two males.
