Restless Leg Syndrome is a common cause of painful legs. This condition is more noticeable when your legs is at rest rather than when your legs is in motion. The symptoms of this condition becomes worse during the early or later in the evening and this can also lead to insomnia.
The cause of this syndrome is not identified in most patients. However, it is associated with: pregnancy, over weight, smoking, iron deficiency and anemia, nerve disease, polyneuropathy, heavy metal toxicity, toxins and more other conditions that may cause this syndrome.
Restless Leg Syndrome can be treated with carbidopa-levodopa, opioids, tramadol for intermittent symptoms, carbamazepine, clonazepam, diazepam, triazolam, termazepam, baclofen, bromocriptine and clonodine.
