Should My Son Stop Using Advair Now?

My son was prescribed Advair when he was born because he was a preemie and the doctors said that it would help to develop his lungs. He is now thirteen and still on Advair. He is a very active boy and participates in all sports activities. Now that he is so old, do you think that he still needs to use Advair? I am rather concerned that he will get addicted to it. He still uses the prescription that was given to him by the doctor when he was born. Will someone please advise appropriately? I am looking forward to seeing some replies regarding this.
