Is Asthma Hereditary?

0 votes
My mom is a chain smoker whom I am living with. Occasionally, I visit my grandparents; unfortunately both are good smokers but I am not an active smoker. Both my mom and grand mom have problems with asthma. I never thought that I will get that disease, but I did. Why did I get this disease eventhough I am a passive smoker. Is asthma hereditary?

Unfortunately, asthma is a hereditary condition. Even though you never attempted to smoke or has never been exposed to factors that can trigger asthma, once you have a family history of this disease, there is still a high possibility of inheriting it.
